JUST DREAMING - 4.27.2003

Invisible fingertips trace
A collarbone, a jawline
Lines on a palm can lead to nowhere.
Mirrored reflections of a girl
With a ghostly stare
Hollow eyes the color of damp grass
Try to hide behind nothingness

Turn off the shower
And there in the mirror
Blurred with steam, lines unseen
I saw my body, naked to my eyes
Do I look that distorted to everyone else?
A fleshy blob moving across
A screen of light blue plastic
With a few streaks of black below her eyes?

He held her tightly, that one time
When she was crying over her heartache
She buried her face in his shoulder,
Safe for a few minutes.
As his hands touched her face...
... Just for one moment...
She realized she had been asleep

I wish I was beautiful, too.
I have NO IDEA where this came from.
Sexual frustration? LOL

I really don't know... I'm just... really out of it right now.
I don't know what to say about this poem...
