Hey all.

My new DevART page is achromaticsea ... please add me there instead!

I just got tired of reading all of my old crappy poetry from seven years ago and decided it was time to start over on a clean slate.

Maybe I'll actually write stuff again and post it... you never know!!

Just an update

2 min read
Started my third year of college in August... woo for me. My classes are killing me already but meh... after this upcoming semester, I'll be  halfway done - I'm planning on graduating in five years instead of just four because yeah, that'll give me enough time to get my GPA up to where it needs to be to apply for the post-BA teaching licensure program up here at CSU. Picked up an anthropology minor to add to my history major.

Other than school, I'm still doing tribal-style belly dance with Bohemian Caravan and loving every second of it.

Getting involved with Planned Parenthood more and more because of the election. It's the first time in PP's history that they've actually endorsed a presidential candidate - Obama - because McCain wants to overthrow Roe v. Wade. Scary shit, man.

I started dating someone too (be shocked! Be amazed!)... we met while he was on leave from Iraq (he's in the army) and we clicked incredibly well. I've never clicked with someone like this before; it's scary but exciting. We probably get along so well because we're both Pisces ;) . Anyway, he's back in Iraq again... left about two weeks after we met and started dating. It's by far one of the toughest things I've ever done... talk about a severe lesson in patience. He's hoping to be home before February, but he may have to stay out there until March. It's... unnerving... knowing that there's a chance someone I'm so attached to may not come home.

... but I try not to think about that, because it scares the living daylights out of me.

Despite that, his phone calls are the highlight of my day (or week, depending on how busy he is) and I'm already planning things for us to do when he's home again.

Anyhoooo... I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the fantastic autumn weather.

Good gods, I can't believe 2007 is actually over. What a weird year it's been.

I've:
-finished my freshman year of college
-started my sophomore year of college
-gotten a new cousin to add to the roster
-witnessed someone get possessed and helped them get un-possessed
-officially ended, beyond all shadow of a doubt, the first relationship I was ever in, after a year and a half of on-and-off dating
-fought with my parents so badly I didn't speak to either for almost a month
-realized how much I love who I am
-was prayed for by 5 Christians while handing out condoms on the CSU plaza for Planned Parenthood
-wrote a paper about the Eve/Virgin Mary paradox for my Medieval Europe class... and got an A
-made friends who I can trust and love
-rediscovered parts of myself I thought I'd lost
-MOVED INTO MY OWN APARTMENT! WOOHOO!

I still can't believe I'm actually moved out, hah. Kind of a surreal feeling, but soooo good.

I hope everyone has an amazing New Year's, and the best of wishes for all in 2008 - it's gonna be a good year!

Hey folks,

Halfway through my sophomore year at Colorado State University, still studying History, thinking of picking up Art History as a minor or double major just because I can. It would make me even less marketable in the 'real world'. :-D

I've discovered bellydancing. Definitely one of the coolest, most amazing, most spiritual things I've ever done. I'm in love with bellydancing.

I'm working on getting more creative again, taking pictures, doin' some writing, painting even, if I ever the right supplies to do it.

I hope you all are doing fantastically, and that your lives are just as exciting (in good and bad ways) as mine is at the moment. :)

Bluebirds fly.
Birds fly over the rainbow;
Why then, oh why, can't I?
