Started my third year of college in August... woo for me. My classes are killing me already but meh... after this upcoming semester, I'll be halfway done - I'm planning on graduating in five years instead of just four because yeah, that'll give me enough time to get my GPA up to where it needs to be to apply for the post-BA teaching licensure program up here at CSU. Picked up an anthropology minor to add to my history major.
Other than school, I'm still doing tribal-style belly dance with Bohemian Caravan and loving every second of it.
Getting involved with Planned Parenthood more and more because of the election. It's the first time in PP's history that they've actually endorsed a presidential candidate - Obama - because McCain wants to overthrow Roe v. Wade. Scary shit, man.
I started dating someone too (be shocked! Be amazed!)... we met while he was on leave from Iraq (he's in the army) and we clicked incredibly well. I've never clicked with someone like this before; it's scary but exciting. We probably get along so well because we're both Pisces
. Anyway, he's back in Iraq again... left about two weeks after we met and started dating. It's by far one of the toughest things I've ever done... talk about a severe lesson in patience. He's hoping to be home before February, but he may have to stay out there until March. It's... unnerving... knowing that there's a chance someone I'm so attached to may not come home.
... but I try not to think about that, because it scares the living daylights out of me.
Despite that, his phone calls are the highlight of my day (or week, depending on how busy he is) and I'm already planning things for us to do when he's home again.
Anyhoooo... I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the fantastic autumn weather.
